BRAIN RAYS THEME II (SLHHMYR REMIX)

Music often makes the film, and one soundtrack that took our breath away last year was that on Rhys Chapman's Wonderkid. All about the relevant and polarising issues around homophobia in football, the emotive storyline was perfectly scored by beatmaker Brain Rays (aka Benjamin Hudson), who when not setting the cutting room ablaze also garners the support from the likes of Annie Mac and Rob Da Bank for his murky electronics and work as one half of hip hop outfit Baconhead. Having loved it a first time around, we're now treated to a EP of remixes including the shimmering and transforming trap version of 'Theme II' from upcoming talent Slhhmyr, who is affiliated with Baconhead's Bizarre Rituals collective. Out today on Siren Recordings, who themselves produced the original soundtrack, it's an atmospheric soundscape that is both rhythmical and meditative. Relive this beautiful body of work through different eyes, which really is the whole point of the film itself. - SJ
